Years later...
Lightning grew into a young stallion! Rain and spirit were proud of their son. And the herd trusted the new stallion.
Esperanza was also very proud of her grandcolt. She had something important to tell spirit and the herd.
"When new generation grow up, old generation must leave..."
"What do you mean?" Lightning asked
"The time has come for me to die..."
The herd was silent. And she continued,
"I have grown old, and have lived a long life. All creatures die... And now it's my time." Spirit shed silent tears.... Hoping no one would notice. But Esperanza did.
" I know my child... But I'm weak... I feel the time is near. I'm going to my favorite spot... Where I gave birth to you!"

Esperanza slowly walked away. She came to a place with tall grass and flowers in bloom.
And she lay down. Breathing her last breath. She said in almost a wisper, "Lightning.... Fulfil your destiny....!"And she died before she could finish.
They stood there remembering...
Spirit remembered how great a mother she was....
Rain Remembered how Esperanza Excepted her into the herd...
And Lightning Remembered all the stories she Had told him...
They would miss her....
